Works Engineering is a Singapore / Malaysia based business that was founded in the late 90s. We initially focused our activities in South-East Asia catering largely to the domestic and Japanese import market, and in the last few years have begun to target international markets.
Works Engineering sources product through a variety of manufacturers, and at the same time we are a contract manufacturer of performance products to the USA, Japan and Europe. Quality is a key driver for Works Engineering, and it is for this reason that Works Engineering prefers to work with suppliers that are ISO certified and have quality control systems in place.
The philosophy upon which our business was founded was to provide a range of quality products at very competitive prices. Our oil cooler kits as an example consist of high quality, billet aluminium components and fittings – comparably priced kits are typically cast. Our quick-release steering hubs are simple to use without any slack and our fuel pressure regulators carry a limited lifetime warranty.
Works Engineering has affiliations with a number of circuit racing, time attack, endurance racing, drag and drift teams across Asia and Australia. We support these teams with our products which in turn provides a base to race-prove our products.
Most notable of these affiliations is with Fariqe Hairuman, a driver for Team Petronas / Petronas Syntium Team. Fariqe has competed in the Asian Touring Car Championship (Seasons Champion 2007) and the British Touring Car Championship series. More recently, Fariqe has been competing in the Super Taikiyu in Japan (2nd in 2008, 1st in 2009, 2nd in 2010 and 2nd in 2011) driving a BMWZ4M and from 2011, the Mercedes Benz SLS GT3. Petronas Syntium Team have won the Super Taikyu series for 5 consecutive years from 2008 to 2012. The team also successfully defended their championship position at the Malaysia Merdeka Endurance Race in 2012. Here are some pictures from Fariqe’s site of the 2011 event.
In the off-season, Farique competes in fun events like the K4GP – a 24 hour endurance race for Kei-class cars. In 2011, Farique built his Works Engineering backed K-car from scratch in his own garage. He came in 1st in Malaysian entries, and 5th in class.
